Pastor Wayman Mitchell, the senior pastor of the Potter’s House in Prescott, AZ, founded the Christian Fellowship Ministries in the early 1970’s and is now comprised of more than 1700 congregations in over 100 countries.
The Door Church Tucson was founded in December of 1973, when Pastor Harold Warner and his wife Mona were sent out from The Potter’s House Church in Prescott, Arizona. They began faithfully preaching the Gospel and reaching lost souls with their compassion and desire to serve. The Holy Spirit moved, and scores of young people received Jesus Christ as their Savior. Pastor Warner and Mona patiently and diligently discipled these young men and women. Following the biblical example of world evangelism, these disciples were then sent to start churches in other cities, states and nations.
Among those disciples was a man by the name Ray Rubi. Pastor Ray Rubi took over a pioneer church in Salt Lake City, Utah in the 1980’s. He in turn repeated the process and discipled Pastor Anthony Trujillo then sent him to Kearns, Utah. After Pastor Trujillo built a work in Kearns, Pastor Bill Neil ,a disciple of Pastor Rob Scribner took over the work. Then Pastor Josh Scribner succeeded him in 2006. Continuing in the vision, Pastor Josh Scribner has repeated the process in raising disciples and sending them out!
This is where we come into the picture. We are an extension of The Door Christian Church now in West Jordan, Utah. Pastor Mathew Thorley was sent out of The Door Kearns in 2008. He along with his wife and 5 children pioneered the work here in Magna. Then Pastor Markell Taylor, along with his wife Brandie and daughter Aliyah, took over the work in 2015.
What To Expect
The Door Church is a Bible-based, Spirit filled, nondenominational family of believers. We count it a privilege to welcome you to our church and minister to your spiritual needs.
We provide nursery and childcare up to 12 years old. Regular services begin with praise and worship that will ready your heart for the preaching of God’s Word. After prayer requests and opening the service in prayer, we take an offering to honor the Lord. Announcements are followed by the biblical preaching of God’s Word and an altar call. Communion is taken afterward for all who desire to participate.
The focus of worship at The Door Church is to provide an inviting atmosphere where men and women can experience, first-hand, the gracious and loving presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is our desire to allow the Holy Spirit to create an openness in people’s hearts so that they may receive the preaching of the Word of God.
We invite you to join us at the beginning of each service for an uplifting time of praise and worship. You will be refreshed and encouraged in the tangible presence of God.
“Praise the Lord! Sing to the Lord a new song and His praise in the assembly of saints.” – Psalms 149:1 NKJ
The food pantry has become an integral expression of our ministry. We serve between 150-200 families a week. We start serving at 3:00 pm every Tuesday and go until food runs out. Feel free to utilize this ministry.
